Wayanad :

Wayanad is a hill station in Kerala state. One of the weekend gateway to Bangaloreans. If you think of Waynad then first you will get waterfalls, trekking trails and dams and tea and coffee estates which will come in to mind. Wayand is not a place name, its district name Kalpetta is headquter of Wayand.

How to reach Wayanad:

By road is the only option to reach Wayand. Near by railway station is Kozhikode which is 75 KM far from Kalpetta.
Bangalore to Wayanad : Distance from Bangalore to Wayand is 275 kms. 
Route : Bangalore – 100kms (2hr 10min)- Mandya – 45kms (1 hrs) Mysore -59Kms (1hr 20 min) – Gundlupet – 56 kms (1hr 10mins)-Sultan Bathery -24 kms (35 mins) Kalpetta.
Important Note : Night traffic is restricted  between 6 pm to 6 am

Wayanad weather : 

With average temperature of 20 degree Celsius. weather will be  throughout year pleasant to visit wayand. In winter (i.e November, December and January  ) Average low temperature  will be in single digit i.e (8 – 9 degree Celsius). 

Best time to Visit Wayanad:

October to May will be best time to visit Wayand. Avoid rainy season as it rains heavily over there hard to get any chance to visit any places apart from water falls.

Chembra peak :
if you love adventure and hiking then dont miss chembra peak. with moderate trekking difficulty level any one with average fitness can hike this trail till heart shape lake.
Pookode Lake :

With boating and kids play area makes pookode lake as picnic place. take boating ride and walk around lake will be nice experience.

Edakkal Caves : 
Edakkal Caves is 16 km from Sulthan Bathery, These are not actually caves, but stucture of rock makes it look like caves. Few years back trek till peak was allowed. but now trek rail was closed for visitors till peak. One can trek till caves only.
Banasura Dam:
Banasura dam is  second largest “Earth dam”  in Asia the largest in India. Beauty of dam is multiplied because of the series of mountains around it. The set of islands in the dam’s reservoir is one of the attractions. One can do trekking from here to Banasura peak. One can enjoy boating in Banasura reservoir.
Meenmutty Falls :

One can reach Meenmutty Falls by 2 km hike though the jungle from the Wayanad Ooty road. Be careful while visiting this falls any many died while visiting tis falls during rainy season.

This fort built by Shivaji Maharaj in 1656-58 AD
